The Human Alliance is under the direction and leadership of Joseph Shaheen, Managing Director.
Shaheen is considered a thought leader on several talent-based disciplines including strategic talent acquisition, data driven talent management, employment branding, and recruitment process design.
Based out of the Washington, D.C. metro area, Joe has worked with large defense contractors, nonprofit organizations as well as private-sector firms to help develop, design and implement their talent processes. Joe has also provides unique workshops and presentations to help clients meet their training and education needs. Joe provides research, analysis, and benchmarking services to help assess current talent processes in organizations that value their talent.
In addition to private workshops and presentations for his clients, Joseph has presented workshops at national conferences and expos as a pro bono service to the larger talent community. He believes that pro bono work should and must always be a cornerstone of the modern consultant, lest we neglect to provide value to people and organizations in need. Shaheen has worked very closely with some of the top firms of the United States, many of which are Global organizations that adopt a talent mindset in knowledge economies.
In addition to his work and his service to the community, Joe earned his Master’s degree in Human Resource Management with a focus on strategic human capital management at Georgetown University. He has also earned over a dozen mainstream industry certifications to augment his process and talent knowledge.
These certifications include the Human Capital Institute’s human capital strategy certification, the Society for human resource management’s professional in human resources, senior professional in human resources, and global professional in human resources. Shaheen also possesses the elite certified recruitment expert certification, granted by AIRS Academy, and which is a level III certification consisting of over five other certifications related to the talent acquisition profession.
Finally, Joe has also earned his certified personnel consultant certification, which was awarded to him by the National Association of Personnel Services. Shaheen has earned all of his education, certifications and accolades, “not as a marketing tool to his clients but as a show of dedication to the principles of continuing education and respect for the talent professionals,” he mentions. Joseph shares his vast volumes of talents and process knowledge by contributing to major journals and online sources of information.
He is a regular contributor to the leading online talent acquisition community ERE, and to the Journal of Corporate Recruiting Leadership. Shaheen resides in Northern Virginia, loves horseback riding and traveling the side roads of northern Virginia on his customized Harley-Davidson.
